Explore the Redesigned Ford Escape, For Sale Near Detroit

First introduced in 2001, the Ford Escape has grown to epitomize everything a well-rounded compact crossover should be. Two decades later, Escape enters its fourth generation with a sporty new aesthetic, improved power and acceleration, and a roomier interior. Despite its "compact" designation, the new Escape provides ample space for passengers and cargo while maintaining a convenient, city-friendly footprint. With smooth and engaging driving dynamics, versatile accommodations, and tons of available features, Escape is an ideal fit for a variety of needs and lifestyles.

Performance

Escape's standard power comes from a turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine (181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque) with cylinder-deactivation capability for improved efficiency. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it achieves an EPA-estimated 30 mpg combined.

If you're looking for even better fuel economy for your urban treks, SE Sport and Titanium models find their motivation in a 2.5-liter Atkinson-Cycle hybrid engine. Paired with an electrically variable-speed automatic transmission, it generates 200 horsepower and reaches an EPA-estimated 41 mpg combined.

Finally, SEL and Titanium models can equip an available turbocharged 2.0-liter powerplant that produces 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. For improved handling and control in more challenging conditions, all-wheel-drive is standard on Titanium and available on all other trims.

Exterior Design

Forgoing the boxy design of typical crossovers, the new Escape adopts a sleeker, more refined aesthetic. Dynamic lines, sculpted panels, and an aerodynamic profile accentuate its athletic character. The available hands-free liftgate provides extra convenience, and 17, 18, and 19-inch alloy wheel options add a distinctive touch.

Interior Accommodations and Utility

The Escape's sleek exterior design carries into a roomy and inviting cabin with quality materials, attractive design elements, and intuitive controls. Up to five riders can travel in comfort, with plenty of headroom and knee room all around. The sliding 60/40-split second-row allows you to quickly and easily adjust for your passenger or cargo needs. Slide the second-row back for maximum legroom and 33.5 cubic feet of storage, or slide it forward to expand capacity to 37.5 cubic feet. With the seats folded flat, cargo space grows to 65.4 cubic feet.

Escape offers Taylor drivers numerous interior amenities to enhance their experience, including heated seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.

Technology

The Escape's SYNC 3 infotainment system, standard on SE and higher, makes it easy for Detroit drivers to stay connected, informed, and on-track, without losing focus on the road. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto intuitively integrate essential smartphone functions with the 8-inch touchscreen, providing seamless access to hands-free messaging and calling, maps and directions, traffic data, weather information, streaming media, and more. SYNC 3 also features integrated WAZE technology to give you real-time updates regarding accidents, hazards, and traffic jams on your route.

With the available Head-Up Display, important driving information is projected on the windshield, so it's easier to remain focused on the road. This display allows you to monitor your speed, navigation, incoming calls, and driver-assistance features, like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane-Keeping System, without distraction.

Focus offers numerous available driver-assistance features that can help make life a little easier. Adaptive cruise control helps mitigate the fatigue of a long road trip or tedious commute by automatically maintaining a preset distance from leading vehicles, limiting the need to switch between gas and accelerator pedals. And with the available automated parking system, you won't have to worry about passing up a prime parallel parking spot.

Safety

Whether you're running errands around town or traveling on the interstate, attentive driving is critical for ensuring safe arrival. However, even the most vigilant and experienced drivers can be caught off-guard by the unexpected. That's why Ford Escape comes standard with the Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced safety technologies to enhance your awareness and help you better detect and avoid hazards. Leveraging the latest automotive camera and radar technologies, these features act as an extra eye on the road, hand on the wheel, and foot on the brake. Every Ford Escape includes:

  • Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
  • BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Auto High-Beam Headlamps

Trim Levels and Feature Highlights

The Ford Escape organizes its features across five trim levels. Many amenities of the upper tiers can be equipped as options on supporting trims.
